From The President of North Penn Eclipse:

We’ve been asked on occasion, “Who are the Eclipse and what do they do?”, so I’d like to take  a moment and perhaps answer some of the questions.

The North Penn Eclipse is a non-profit girls youth travel softball organization operating in partnership with the North Penn Valley Girls Softball Association recreational league.

The North Penn Eclipse provides education and competition for girls ages 8 through 18 in the sport of fast pitch travel softball.  We are members of several North Penn area competition programs, as well as PA State and National tournament leagues.  We enjoy a rich legacy of success playing competitive fastpitch softball at the highest levels.  We’ve acquired several local, PA State, and National titles awarded by competing in qualified tournaments.

We’ve accomplished much in over 21 years of existence by managing our organization with a single creed, “For the Kids.”  This is the creed that drives us when preparing coaching staff to offer the best environment and playing experience possible, assisting the NPVGSA with capital for projects and equipment, fundraising, building, and maintaining playing fields.  They are the words we operate by when hosting coaching and player clinics, and competing against the best area teams and leagues.  We strive to always make all decisions to what is best “for the kids” – meaning ALL kids in every program which we participate.

In times when our youth is distracted in many unfavorable ways, recreational sports are a place where our children can thrive in a positive environment of goal setting, teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendly competition.  All are traits needed to become good citizens, community builders, and future business leaders.

An Eclipse member is expected to follow our code of conduct.  At times, the athletes will donate time and support for local charities, visit hospitals and nursing homes, and assist in the training of younger athletes.  We works to assure any qualifying athlete who is selected to play travel softball in the Eclipse program is supported, including financial aid when needed.  We add to our creed, “No Eclipse athlete should ever fail to participate for financial reasons”.  It is the last concern we want our players and their parents to have.  We acquire sponsorships and provide fundraising opportunities that help support athletes who need assistance to play.

By providing the best competitive sports environment, and creating high expectations for participation, commitment, friendship, teamwork, hustle and community involvement, we hope our athletes learn and experience the most fun and rewarding unforgettable moments of their lifetime.

This is what the North Penn Eclipse does; we play softball strictly for the fun, competition, friendships, and great memories created for all who become a member.
